Samsung SDS enters partnership with DPD, expanding its logistics services

The move by Samsung SDS is in response to rapidly growing e-commerce market

Oirschot, 8 April 2020 – Samsung SDS has entered a strategic partnership with DPD that will further expand the former’s services and improve its reliability in transport solutions. As a result, Samsung SDS will be able to offer its customers more transport options and thus strengthen its position in Europe’s rapidly growing e-commerce market.

The partnership with DPD enables Samsung SDS to enhance its last-mile services and therefore offer express and regular road transport throughout Europe. The growing e-commerce market means that more and more companies want to expand the delivery options within their current services and make them more user friendly. DPD’s response to this demand is its Predict service, which ensures good communication with parcel recipients. This includes a notification of the one-hour time slot within which their parcel will be delivered.

Eric Dietz, CEO of DPD Netherlands: “DPD is extremely happy about the new partnership with Samsung SDS. E-commerce is growing rapidly and we and other companies have to respond to these developments. Our service is aimed at making delivery as easy and clear as possible for our clients. One of the ways we do this is with Predict, a unique DPD service that enables companies to optimise communication with end customers. Carbon neutral parcel delivery is an essential part of this. We strive continuously to reduce our carbon footprint and compensate for any emissions we do produce.

Mr SeungBin Yim, president of Samsung SDS EU / CIS, says: “Samsung SDS is rapidly expanding its logistics services in the e-commerce market. By working with DPD, we can offer our customers even more transport options. From now on, these also includes express and regular road transport.”

“This partnership enables us to further improve our reliability in transport solutions, which we provide from our multi-user warehousing facility in Tilburg. The fact that DPD can offer a transport network that is suitable for processing multiple items with batteries is added value for us,” adds Ward Brekelmans, Business Development Manager at Samsung SDS EU/CIS.
