Spring Rush: Be Prepared!
Spring is a busy season! With warmer weather, holiday bonuses, and multiple public holidays like King's Day, Ascension Day, and Pentecost, we see a significant increase in parcel volumes. This may result in a one-business-day delay in weeks with a public holiday.

To ensure your shipments arrive on time, we recommend registering and sending your parcels—especially higher volumes—in advance. Below, you’ll find an overview of the upcoming public holidays and their potential impact on our services.

Deliveries during NATO Summit (June 22–27): Expect delays and rerouting

Due to the NATO Summit on June 24 and 25 in The Hague, additional national security measures will be in place across the Netherlands. Between Sunday, June 22 and Thursday, June 27, we expect traffic congestion, delivery delays, and temporary restrictions.

What to expect:

  • Traffic disruptions: Expect severe congestion, especially near The Hague and on highways like the A4, A44, N44, and A12. This may cause delays nationwide.
  • Changed pickup times: Our drivers may arrive later than usual at business addresses.
  • Temporary delivery restrictions: In certain zones of The Hague (around the World Forum), home delivery will not be possible. See the list zipcode: Postcodes NAVO Gebieden Pakketupdate
  • Rerouting to Pickup Points: Parcels addressed to restricted areas will automatically be sent to an accessible DPD Pickup Point. Please note: this may not be the nearest point to the delivery address.
  • Large or heavy parcels: If a parcel is too large or heavy for a Pickup Point, we’ll store it at our depot until delivery is possible again.

  • Use Track & Trace to follow your shipment and check its latest status and location.
  • Expecting a time-sensitive delivery? Consider scheduling it before or after this period.

Russia:

We suspended all Geopost shipments to and from Russia on February 28th, 2022. 

 

Special countries:

Geopost has decided it will no longer ship parcels to Cuba, South Sudan, North Korea, Myanmar (Burma) and Syria. Should you wish to ship your products to these countries, this is no longer possible trough DPD.
