Every day, we deliver thousands of parcels with care and dedication. Most of the time, everything goes according to plan – in our sorting process, on the road, and in our systems. But sometimes, delays can occur due to busy periods, weather, public holidays, or a technical update or disruption. On this page, we’ll keep you informed about anything that may affect your delivery or our digital tools. That way, you always know what to expect.

Delays

On this page you’ll find an overview of current delays in our services. We’re working hard to deliver parcels as quickly as possible and will keep you updated here about any disruptions.

Update 12 January 2026:

Due to actions by striking farmers, several border crossings between France and Spain are currently (partially) closed in both directions. As a result, freight traffic cannot pass on certain routes.

This may cause delays to shipments to and from Spain (and potentially to transit shipments via Spain). We are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting our planning where possible.

Update 11 January 2026:

Customer update:

On Monday we’ll resume pickups as scheduled (regular volume).
We’ll collect only your usual (regular) volume; please do not add extras to Monday’s pickup. Extra volume will be scheduled separately, please share the total extra volume with your usual contact person.

Recipient update: Delivery & safety (freezing rain advisory)

  • Safety comes first. With a risk of freezing rain, our teams will assess locally, per region/route and time of day, whether it’s responsible to drive.
  • Delivery continues where it is safe and feasible. Start times and route order may be adjusted locally; Track & Trace/MyDPD time windows are indicative while these weather conditions persist.
  • We will collect from DPD Parcel Shops where it is safe, so returns can continue.

General update concerning the weather conditions:

Due to ongoing snow and icy conditions, we decide per region and per route whether it is safe to drive. Where it is responsible and accessible, we collect and deliver as usual. In some areas a route may start later, be rescheduled, or be cancelled.

What this means for you

  • Local delays are possible. Times in track & trace are indicative while winter weather persists.
  • Pickups at business customers and parcel shops cannot always be guaranteed; here too we make a local safety assessment.
  • Sunday extra delivery: to reduce backlogs, DPD will make additional deliveries this Sunday where it is safe to do so. This helps normalize lead times, but not all backlog will disappear immediately.

Helpful tips (recipients)

  • Take a quick look outside. If your street is icy or impassable, our driver cannot deliver safely.
  • Keep an eye on MyDPD. Track your parcel and, where possible, choose a parcel shop or locker if that suits you better.
  • Add a delivery instruction to your order—e.g., a short note for the driver (doorbell, entrance, floor).

Helpful tips (senders)

  • Set realistic expectations. Communicate in your checkout that delivery may be delayed due to winter weather.
  • Make your site accessible. Keep the driveway, loading area, and entrance clear of snow/ice for safe pickup.
  • Volume handover: while last-mile capacity is under local pressure, pickup may be rescheduled or not take place; we will inform you as soon as possible.

12th of August: Warning: phishing messages in circulation

We are currently seeing phishing SMS and email messages being sent in the name of DPD. These messages often come from an international phone number that is not ours, contain links to fake websites, and ask for personal information or to reschedule a delivery.

Our advice:

  • Do not click on links in these messages
  • Always check that the email address ends with @dpd.nl
  • Only schedule deliveries via dpd.nl or the official DPD app
  • Call us only on our official phone number 085-0022222

Russia:

We suspended all Geopost shipments to and from Russia on February 28th, 2022.

Worldwide:

Geopost has decided it will not ship parcels to Cuba, South Sudan, North Korea, Myanmar (Burma) and Syria. Should you wish to ship your products to these countries, this is not possible trough DPD.
