Sustainability is a key focus for DPD Netherlands and Geopost of which we are part. We aim to become Europe's most sustainable parcel service, and are working hard to actually reduce our emissions. We have therefore committed to the goal of being Net Zero by 2040.

DPD/Geopost is aiming to be Net Zero in 2040

Wat does Net Zero mean for DPD?

Wat does Net Zero mean for DPD?

Net Zero means that we will have reduced our carbon emissions by 90% in 2040 at the latest. We will compensate the remaining 10% through projects that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. From 2024, we will therefore accelerate our actions to reduce our carbon emissions.

Most DPD's CO2 emissions are caused by the transport of parcels by trucks moving from depot to depot and between hubs. By accelerating investments to make our fleet cleaner, we expect to meet the targets 10 years earlier than agreed in the Paris climate accord and thus be Net Zero by 2040.

DPD/Geopost is the first worldwide parcel delivery service whose short and long-term goals for reducing carbon emissions have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This institute assesses the plans of organisations to check whether they meet the (science-based) goals. And we are very proud of that.
