A customs tariff is a classification of goods (usually listed in the form of a numerical code) and its rates of duty, as well as information on tax rates, import prohibitions and restrictions and special features concerning countries of origin and preferences or other trade policy measures. It is used for customs clearance and serves as the basis for the collection of duties.
