Thirty years of DPD Switzerland: interview with Franziska

A lot happens in 30 years. And that’s how it is at DPD, too. The most important thing is the people behind the scenes, the ones working hard every day to keep things moving. We decided to get to know some of these people a little better, and you can read about it here:

1. Is there anything you couldn’t live without?

Yes, chocolate. White chocolate bars are my favourite.

2. Are you interested in other cultures and, if so, what exactly?

I’m very interested in the pharaohs. I always like to watch documentaries about excavations and the lives of people of that time. I’m interested in how they lived back then and how they were able to build such impressive buildings like the pyramids. I find the idea of constructing a building as a human being, knowing that I will not live to see its completion, very admirable.

3. Tell us in a few sentences how you ended up at DPD.

Before joining DPD, I worked for a key account who was already collaborating with DPD at the time. I was responsible for track and trace there. But when the decision was made to close the department, I knocked on DPD’s door. So, long story short, that’s how I ended up joining DPD. I started out as a call centre agent.

4. How many years have you worked at DPD?

From 1 May, it has been 16 years.

5. What field do you work in at DPD and what do you particularly like about it?

I am currently working on NPS callbacks. In other words, I call consignees who have given us a poor rating, so that the matter can be looked at once again in detail and that we as a company can continue to improve our processes.
What I like most about my job is when the person I call shows appreciation for what I do and thanks me for a call that they weren’t expecting at all.

6. What do you spend most of your time doing outside of work?

Besides my work, I love watching TV. And while it may seem hard to believe, I don’t use any streaming services. As well as formats like Tagesschau, I enjoy the crime series Midsomer Murders and Die Rosenheim-Cops. For me, they strike the perfect balance between simply wrapped crime stories, a sprinkling of excitement and a good dose of comedy.

7. Is there an experience that has changed your life positively for the long term?

That has to be my wedding 29 years ago. 😊

8. What are the three most important things for you in life right now?

Number 1: health
Number 2: satisfaction
Number 3: harmonious coexistence

9. Are you ruled by your head or your heart?

Looking back, I feel my life has really changed over the years. In the past, I tended to be ruled by my head. These days, though, I listen more to my gut feeling and only do things that make me feel good.

10. Who’s your favourite musician?

I listen to a lot of radio. Yet to give you a straight answer, the perfect artist would be a mix of Robbie Williams and Eminem.

11. Do you have any ‘bad’ habits?

If I’m honest, I’d say my ‘bad’ habit is that I sometimes like to stick my oar in. 😄
