DPD is at the forefront of innovation. We get the most out of digital technology to give you the best experience in sending and receiving parcels. Our services assure you the best information flow and flexibility in the parcel delivery sector.
DPD Hungária Kft. is a parcel logistics service provider with national coverage, which it provides from 21 depots and a Budapest distribution centre. We have 220 permanent staff, nearly 450 couriers, a fast-expanding network of Pickup shops and a level of technology that leads the way in small package delivery. All the parcels we deliver are accompanied by data, allowing them to be tracked and providing information on their lifecycle. Our advanced communication network and harmonised services ensure that parcel shipping is easier than ever.
DPD Hungária Kft. is one of the largest parcel logistics service providers in Europe. It is investing more than 5.5 billion forints on a greenfield project in Budapest: a distribution centre with the latest automatic sorting technology. The new hub is going up beside our existing sorting centre in the 15th District of the city. Work started in October 2019, and the facility is planned to open in September 2020.
The new centre will more than double DPD's sorting capacity in Hungary. It will lay the foundations for rapid expansion in the next few years. Both the building and the automatic sorting equipment are aimed to provide growth potential to meet the needs of e-commerce in the steadily-expanding parcel logistics market.
Important considerations in selecting the technology were low noise levels and the lowest possible environmental stress, in line with the Group's carbon-neutral programme.
