DPD wins Parcel & Postal Technology International award 2021

DPDrivR, DPD’s new app, has won the Parcel + Postal Technology International Award 2021. Our app was judged the best in the Last Mile Delivery Innovation category.

What exactly is DPDrivR?

DPDrivR has been developed to encourage parcel delivery employees in a positive way to improve their performance. Delivery employees can see their individual performance, focusing on elements such as delivery performance and customer reviews. The app makes use of gamification. Delivery employees can score points and earn medals by achieving certain levels of performance, such as the number of kilometres driven. Thanks to the app, the delivery employee knows better than ever before what is expected and can immediately improve his or her performance. It’s also extremely motivating to receive positive feedback and not only to hear when things go wrong.

Number of parcels increasing

The COVID pandemic has generated a huge increase in the number of parcels that have to be delivered each day. This increasing workload continually demands improvements and new solutions for the delivery process. DPD is convinced that DPDrivR makes a valuable contribution to improving its service.

Prizegiving

On 12 October we were presented with the award at the Parcel + Postal Expo 2021 in Vienna. The jury was made up of CEOs and directors of various post and parcel services worldwide. There were around 100 entries in the Last Mile Delivery Innovation category, and DPD succeeded in beating firms such as Rakuten Super Logistics and Paztir & Citkar.
