On our way to electric transport

DPD has set itself an ambitious environmental target. The climate agreement demands that we in the Netherlands cut our greenhouse gas emissions by almost half (49%) by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. And so from 2025 municipalities will have the option to introduce a separate Zero Emission zone. DPD has set itself the target of zero-emission deliveries in the 45 largest towns and cities in the Netherlands by 2025. And we aim to be all-electric by 2030. Although there are a few years to go until 2025, we are already working hard to achieve these goals.

DPD is already using electric vehicles from our depots in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Eindhoven and Maastricht. To ensure that these vehicles can be charged, 150 charging stations have already been installed and the next 150 stations are planned. Within DPD it has been decided to focus first on installing charging points at the depots. Drivers can then charge their vehicles overnight so that they are fully charged and ready to go the next morning. We will use the experiences we gain here when introducing electric vehicles at other depots.
