As a courier service provider, DPD Romania has introduced and continue maintain the highest professional, legal and ethical standards.

DPD Romania processes the following data of  persons concerned : parcel consignors , shipments, including content and delivery information, parcel delivery recipients, transport subcontractors, drivers and registered users of DPD Romania services ( IT applications or on site).

In addition to address information, contact details and names of contacts, this also include legal and billing information that are relevant to individual shipments, e.g. dangerous good transport information, customs information, shipment transfer information, collected cash on delivery amounts , shipment tracking information (current status and current location of shipments) as well as additional information on shipment delivery provided by sender or consignee. The content of parcels becomes known only in the case of customs requirements or if it is necessary to open the package in the absence of external information necessary to identify the consignee in accordance with the Law on Postal Services. The retention period of these data is primarily based on various legal and organizational requirements.

Data is processed mainly within the EU, unless an expedition is destined for a non-EU country.

DPD Romania uses and processes personal data only within the companies involved. Data transfer by sale, rental or exchange does not take place.. If DPD Romania transmits data to external service providers for the execution of a service, they are required to comply with EU GDPR provisions (Article 28) or other legal provisions on confidentiality. DPD Romania does not transmit personal data to third parties, unless the transfer  is in the fulfillment of the purpose of the contract (subcontractors and couriers acting on behalf of DPD Romania), or the concerned persons agreed by giving their consent (eg those who use the application DPD Romania, MyDPD, Webservice, E-commerce Extensions) or there is a legal obligation to transmit data (for example, for customs declarations or dangerous goods information).

DPD Romania applies the appropriate precautions measures, technical and organizational, to ensure the security of personal data processed by DPD. Data is carefully protected against loss, destruction, tampering, manipulation and unauthorized access or disclosure. DPD Romania's employees and partners are obliged to keep the postal secrecy  and confidentiality of personal data and trained on how to process the data. The security of computer systems used is monitored on a regular basis. The Data Protection Officer of DPD Romania, [email protected], is the contact person for the processing of personal data in accordance with art. 15 GDPR, required in accordance with art. 16, 17, 18, 20, 21 GDPR and other data protection concerns or complaints.
