New location of DPD depot Novo Mesto

Ljubljana, November 2021 – On Monday, November 8, 2021, we moved the depot Novo Mesto to a new, more suitable location, which allows us to better sort parcels and more room for maneuver in front of the warehouse.

In DPD Slovenia, at the “peak season”, which in our industry is marked by Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we always start preparing in the summer months.

We analyze the forecasts on the planned quantities of packages and start preparations for the engagement of additional transport and storage capacities, as well as customer support capacities. Preparations are also going in the direction of finding, recruiting, and educating new staff in the delivery service, warehouse, and call center. Above all, we try to optimize work processes even more efficiently and strengthen cooperation between departments. Years ago, we were the first to develop and introduce the sending of announcements to recipients about the planned 1-hour delivery window via SMS messages and e-mail. The notification system also allows recipients to choose an alternative address and an alternative delivery date, as well as the authorization to deposit packages in a safe place or to postpone them to one of the 670 pick-up and delivery points. Good preparation thus ensures that we maintain the high quality of our services even at the peak of the season.

Given the record growth in the number last year, the peak will certainly bring many challenges this year as well, but we will not exceed last year's figures (due to the decision not to close the economy and shops). Part of the preparations is also the upgrade and expansion of the existing infrastructure and the opening of new depots throughout Slovenia.

We are pleased to announce that on Monday, November 8, 2021, we moved the depot in Novo Mesto to a new, more suitable location, which allows us to better sort packages and more room for maneuver in front of the warehouse. The depot also acts as a Pickup point, which means that the end-user can redirect and pick up the package in person at the location:

Opening hours are Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 09:00 and between 15:00 and 18:00.

21 couriers replaced the old location in Novo Mesto with a new depot adapted to logistical needs.

The new depot boasts 16 small and 3 large lift doors. Its net internal surface measures 400 m2, and the entire external maneuvering as much as 1600 m2.
