DPD accelerates more against climate change!

Ljubljana, October 2022 | Borders are just lines drawn on a map. We are connected to each other. We are all neighbors. No matter where we live or work, we all share the #SameAddress and we must take care of our planet.

Sustainability is the biggest challenge of our time, but at DPDgroup, they are true pioneers in this regard. This is what motivates them every day. They say they want to be a driving force for good in the world, joining forces with customers, consumers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to positively impact the people, our planet, and the communities they work with.

Ambitious goals until 2030

At DPD, they strive to achieve the vision of placing sustainability at the center of everything they do by 2030. By 2025, they want to deliver parcels exclusively with low-emission vehicles in as many as 350 European cities, and at the same time they have set an ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 43% by 2030 (based on the starting point for 2020).

Sustainability at the heart of everything DPD does

In the context of rapid growth in the e-commerce and parcel delivery sectors, the DPDgroup Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) submitted its net-zero ambition in August, marking a further step on its climate action journey. As pioneers in their sector, in addition to the short-term, science-based target for 2030), they have also set a target for 2040. They are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% (based on the 2020 baseline) and thus achieving their net zero ambition.

This step only further demonstrates DPDgroup's ambition to become an international reference in the field of sustainable delivery.

DPD accelerates the path to carbon neutrality

In September 2022, DPDgroup also joined an ambitious initiative led by the international non-profit organization Climate Group to accelerate the decarbonization of its operations and encourage wider action in the road transport sector.

With this, the company commits to switch its fleet of vehicles over 7.5 tons to zero tailpipe emissions by 2040. By 2030, the company will also aim to purchase exclusively such vehicles in the medium-duty vehicle segment.

DPDgroup will work with its business units and transport partners to actively innovate and direct measures towards these goals.

Every year, DPD also publishes a sustainability report that confirms their vision until 2030 to become an international reference in the field of sustainable delivery and a leading factor in promoting e-commerce.
