What is phishing and how can you prevent it?
Phishing is when cybercriminals try to obtain your login details and personal information.
Like many companies, criminals also create fake emails from DPD. For example:
- You receive an email asking you to log in to a website that looks very similar to DPD's.
- Please note: this is a fake site. You do not need to log in to dpd.nl. If you log in to the fake site, your login details will be immediately forwarded to the fraudster.
- You receive a request to pay for the delivery of a parcel.
- Please note: the sender has already paid for the parcel, so you do not need to pay for delivery and you should never pay cash at the door!
- You receive an email stating that a parcel is ready for you but cannot be delivered. You are asked to download something.
- Please note: DPD will never ask you to download anything in order to have a parcel delivered. You will probably install a virus that searches your computer for personal data.
