With a desire for a future with zero emissions

Our goal is to become an international reference in the field of sustainable delivery, so we put sustainability at the center of everything we do - decarbonization, air quality monitoring, reducing the environmental footprint... We invest in innovation and development of our parcel delivery fleet, we open smaller urban warehouses closer to parcel recipients , we are introducing vehicles with low emissions….

Our ambition by 2025

Delivery in 350 European cities with low-emission vehicles

Our main goal is to become an international reference in the field of sustainable delivery, and part of this goal is also the ambition to deliver exclusively with low-emission vehicles in as many as 350 European cities by 2025.

97 European cities already use only low-emission vehicles for delivery, which is 55 more than last year.

Parcels in the center of Ljubljana and Maribor are delivered by vehicles with low emissions

High traffic density and pollution in city centers require new solutions for parcel delivery. With the aim of improving delivery in urban areas in the future as well, we are developing concepts of sustainable urban logistics.

Thus, in the center of Ljubljana and Maribor, we already deliver with electric bicycles and vehicles with low emissions. The inclusion of vehicles with low emissions is an important step in our strategy, with which we want to remain one of the leading providers of delivery services in Slovenia.

First DPD City depot

In December 2021, the first City depot in Slovenia was opened

At DPD Slovenia, as innovators in the field of green delivery, on December 7, 2021, we opened our first City Depot in the center of Ljubljana, at Gosposvetska ulica 1. The new city depot follows the goals of sustainable urban delivery: to get as close as possible to recipients and senders of parcels and thus reduce emits CO2. In this way, DPD Slovenia prepared for the increased volume of shipments during the holidays, in addition to expanding the network of depots, we adjusted our business and operational processes, among other things.

Depots in the centers of major European cities are part of DPD's commitment to the development of sustainable urban logistics solutions. We develop sustainable urban logistics solutions, such as urban micro-depots, which allow us to be closer to the recipients and senders of packages. We use sustainable delivery methods such as environmentally friendly vehicles, bicycles and foot delivery. Thus, DPD effectively copes with the challenge of modern times, the phenomenon of e-commerce, which has caused a significant increase in the number of parcels  in city centers, where we are also faced with increasingly strict traffic regulations and restrictions.
