Following the trends of previous years,  this year we also expect increased parcel volumes, especially right before holidays. Accordingly, we have already adjusted our business and operational processes to meet the estimated parcel delivery time.

Sending parcels with DPD

To make sure that your gifts arrive on time, our recommendation is that you start thinking about buying them now and do not delay the purchase until the last minute.

Due to the larger number of online orders at this time of year, there are significantly larger volumes of parcels, which can prolong the delivery time.

We have prepared a special benefit for you during this holiday season.

When sending a parcel via www.dpd4u.si, with the XMAS20 code you get a 20% discount when sending a parcel in domestic and international traffic.

The discount is valid until the end of the year.

With the month of November, we are entering a period of the year in which the quantity of picked up and delivered shipments increases significantly. Black Friday, 26.11., followed by Cyber Monday, Nov. 29, mark the introduction to December’s pre-Christmas shopping “fever”.

We are aware that this time of year your sales activities are stronger than usual, so we have adjusted our business and operational processes in order to comply with the estimated parcel delivery time, all in compliance with the recommended health measures.

DPD depots

Due to the increased quantities of parcels in the system, shipments will occasionally be organized in the late afternoon or evening. Due to preventive measures to prevent the spread of infections, we do not envisage extending the time of personal collection of parcels in our depots. On the other hand, we are increasing our Pickup locations network  (80 new MOL Pickup stations), and we are also enabling recipients to choose delivery to DPD Direct4.me parcel lockers (there are 542 available in Slovenia).

By prior arrangement or announcement (no later than Friday by 5 pm) delivery of parcels is possible to two of our larger warehouses in Ljubljana and Maribor, also on Saturdays and Sundays between 12 noon and 1 pm. Parcels delivered on Saturday and Sunday will be delivered as early as Monday. We will also do home deliveries for our customers most Saturdays.

With the increase of areas in the existing warehouses and with a completely new depot in Novo Mesto, we have prepared well for the increased number of received / delivered / re-sorted parcels.

Delivery fleet capacities

With additional liner vehicles in international and domestic traffic (trucks with swap bodies and trailers) and final delivery vehicles (couriers with vans), we are well prepared for the additional kilometers traveled.

  • On 12 and 31 December, we will deliver parcels normally.
  • The depots will be open until 4 pm for personal collection.

In addition, it is extremely important that you let us know in a timely manner if you will have larger quantities of packages than usual.

As DPDgroup strives to become the most sustainable delivery company in Europe, we contribute to better air quality with our carbon-neutral delivery. We reduce the environmental footprint by reducing the impact on air quality and thus help in the fight against climate change.
