Aschaffenburg, 25. February 2026 - ECE is expanding the range of services offered at the shopping centers it operates and is launching its first cooperation with parcel service providers DPD and GLS to set up parcel stations at and in the center parking garages.
The goal is to equip up to 50 center parking garages operated by ECE with parcel stations by mid-2026.
The first of the new parcel stations have been put into operation at the Hessen Center, Franken Center, and Herold Center. The next planned locations at the Billstedt Center and Alstertal Shopping Center in Hamburg, at the Promenadenhauptbahnhof Leipzig, and at the Olympia Shopping Center in Munich and the Glacis-Galerie Neu-Ulm are to follow.
The parcel stations, which are open to all providers, will be installed in easily accessible locations in and around the parking garages, enabling customers to pick up or drop off their parcels easily and without having to make any extra trips before or after shopping.
The target is to supplement the extensive range of services offered by the centers and affiliated parking garages with additional offerings and services, thereby further increasing customer benefits and enhancing the centers' function as central service and supply hubs. In particular, the centrally located, highly frequented, and easily accessible parking garage spaces managed by ECE are to be used more intensively in the future for additional suitable services, especially in the area of mobility, e.g., e-charging stations.
Ina Königsberg-Brouns, Director of Parking & Mobility at ECE: "The parking garages we operate at the centers have great potential for additional offerings and services that are easily and conveniently accessible to customers and further strengthen the centers in their role as central supply hubs. With the DPD and GLS parcel stations, we are taking another step in this direction, and various other services are already in the planning stage."
The collaboration with ECE is an important milestone for DPD in the further expansion of our out-of-home strategy. Our goal is to establish a comprehensive, dense network of parcel stations to offer recipients flexible pickup, shipping, and return options without being tied to fixed opening hours. We are delighted to have won ECE as an important and strategic partner for our open ecosystem.
