In the rankings published by the 'Stiftung Warentest' consumer organisation, DPD came out on top on the consignee side. Michael Knaupe, Chief Customer Experience & Business Development Officer at DPD Germany, assesses this performance and looks to the future.
Dear Michael, the testers from 'Stiftung Warentest' were particularly full of praise for the live tracking of the test parcels they posted, and the fact that the predicted delivery times were adhered to in every case. What makes DPD so unique when it comes to parcel delivery?
Our Predict service needs to be mentioned first here. On the day of delivery it enables us to tell consignees exactly when their parcel will arrive, down to the last hour. In our Live-Tracking service, within the final hour before delivery the time window even counts down to 30 minutes. And as the verdict of 'Stiftung Warentest' shows, we live up to these high standards of quality and reliability in practice. On top of that, we know how to make an impression in visual and acoustic terms: thanks to our seasonal tracking features we can not only visually adapt the look of the delivery vehicle and the house, but also insert customised logos and jingles.
Along with one other provider, DPD is the parcel service provider in the test that offers the most delivery possibilities for consignees. What redirection options does DPD provide and how does the service work?
Whether it's a Pickup parcelshop, a safe place drop-off okay, delivery to a neighbour or even rescheduling to another day – all these personal redirection options can be conveniently ordered in the myDPD digital service platform and in the DPD app. In addition, DPD parcel consignees now have the option of specifying their individual preferred neighbour on nebenan.de, Germany's largest neighbourhood platform. With this wide range of flexible redirection options and our outstanding Live-Tracking function we set the benchmark on Germany's parcels market in terms of service quality.
However, DPD doesn't only excel with its service quality. It also received the top rating of "very good" in the "Social and ecological corporate strategy" category. What are DPD's sustainability goals and how are they being implemented?
At DPD, responsibility for greener logistics is put into practice on a daily basis. This is one of the reasons why we have been shipping every parcel in a climate-neutral way for more than ten years now. The next target is to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 30 per cent by the year 2025. How is this to be achieved? With a distinctive vision and the willingness to link DPD's growing physical network with innovative digital platforms.
