Here you will find questions and our answers relating to the subject of receiving parcels. We will tell you how to track and redirect your parcel, give you answers about parcel delivery, the ParcelLock box and how to evaluate our services.
According to all that is known so far, there is no increased health risk associated with signing on the handheld scanner. Based on current knowledge, transmission of the coronavirus through contact with parcel surfaces is extremely unlikely.
However, as a precautionary measure, personal confirmation of receipt by signature at the private front door is suspended for the time being. In addition, for the moment small, flat parcels of a suitable size can be put in the consignee\'s letterbox.
In order to avoid direct contact as a precautionary measure, you as the consignee of the parcel can also help us in a very concrete way:
Provide us with a deposit okay, so that the delivery driver can leave the parcel without direct customer contact, for example in the garden shed, in the garage or in front of the apartment door. Observe the hygiene regulations and avoid any physical contact. This rule is also followed by our delivery personnel.
Customers can use all Pickup Parcelshops on a regular basis. Throughout Germany there are over 7,000 Parceldhops available for picking up and shipping parcels. Should temporary closures occur in individual cases (e.g. in the case of beauty salons which are not allowed to open due to the current lockdown measures) we will inform you in our Parcelshop Finder.
In order to guarantee you a secure delivery, at our parcel shops your parcels are also handed over in a contact-free way. The parcel shop employee will document both the ID card check and the parcel hand-over.
Parcel deliveries and collections in Germany are being implemented as normal, as long as this is not restricted by the local authorities.
In the case of international shipments, in some areas the delivery or collection of express parcels is not possible due to official regulations.
You will find more detailed information on individual regions with existing restrictions below.
DPD is helping to counteract the further spread of the coronavirus and protect its own workforce with a series of measures.
As a precautionary measure, personal confirmation of receipt by signature at the private front door is suspended for the time being. In addition, for the moment small, flat parcels of a suitable size can be put in the consignee\'s letterbox. We encourage customers and consignees to give us a deposit okay, so that no personal contact is necessary at all.
Employees whose presence on site is not required are working from home until further notice. Business trips are kept to a necessary minimum, and participation in large-scale events such as trade fairs has been suspended until further notice.
DPD is making its staff, and in particular all delivery personnel, more aware of appropriate hygiene measures. Personal confirmations of receipt for parcel deliveries have been suspended until further notice. Updated pandemic plans exist for all locations in order to maintain our service even in the event of an increase in corona cases.
In spite of the coronavirus pandemic, the collection and delivery of parcels is currently operating without restrictions.
In principle DPD continues to carry out parcel shipments to all European countries. Conversely, parcels from abroad continue to be delivered in Germany.
In some areas delivery or collection of parcels is not possible or only possible to a limited extent due to official instructions.
Due to the current increase in the number of infections, it is possible in individual cases that traders may have to temporarily cease business activities and may not be able to receive parcels. So please check in advance whether parcel delivery to the addressee is actually possible.
This can be the case in the following countries
Austria (for more information on the delivery situation in Austria)
Italy (for more information on the delivery situation in Italy)
France (for more information on the delivery situation in France)
Spain (for more information on the delivery situation in Spain)
Great Britain (for more information on the delivery in Great Britain)
The delivery structure in Austria continues to be unrestricted. However, stricter official measures will apply in Austria from 17 to probably 26 November. This will be accompanied by an increase in business closures.
The business closures can also affect Pickup parcelshops.
As a result, it is possible that parcels may not be accepted or it may be more difficult to deliver them to some addresses. A shortened period for clarifying the situation currently applies to parcels which can't be delivered. Find out more: https://www.dpd.com/at/de/support/kontakt/coronavirus/
Due to an increasing number of cases of infection, Italy is again applying stricter Covid-19 measures. In large parts of the country there is a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., in some regions even for the whole day. Theatres, cinemas, sports centres and museums are closed throughout the country, and in many regions restaurants and bars are also temporarily closed. Industrial facilities, grocery shops, pharmacies, hairdressers and laundries remain open.
We are continuing to ship goods to and from France.
Since 30 October all non-essential shops in France have been closed, so that not all parcel shops are available.
We are continuing to ship goods to and from Spain.
Restaurants and cafés have been closed in some regions of Spain due to high levels of infection. However, all shops are open, so there are no restrictions on the parcel shop network.
Parcels from DPD are still being delivered on a normal basis in Great Britain, and goods are still being shipped from Germany.
The new lockdown will probably continue to apply in England until 2 December. As a result cultural institutions, sports centres, leisure facilities, non-essential shops, restaurants and pubs, among other facilities, will have to remain closed. Sometimes Pickup parcelshops will also be affected by this temporary closure.
We give each parcel its own parcel number. On the basis of this number you can track the progress of your parcel in myDPD or in your app, and if necessary arrange for delivery on a different day or to a different location.
If your parcel is at the delivery centre you can arrange for a new delivery in myDPD or in our app. You simply enter the parcel number and the location and date for the delivery. You can always track the current delivery status of your parcel here.
As the consignee you decide when or where we deliver the parcel. You can choose from four redirection options in order to have your parcel delivered the way it suits you best. You normally receive an email with the parcel number. If we have not located you at home, you will also find the parcel number on the parcel notification card which we leave in your letterbox. In the parcel tracking function four redirection options are available to you, e.g. you can give us a deposit okay, redirect your parcel to a neighbour, a parcelshop of your choice or change the day of delivery. In your \"Preferences\" you can register the type of delivery which is generally the most suitable for you.
Our parcel tracking function enables you to follow the progress of your parcel online at any time. If the status of your parcel remains unchanged for a long period or if it isn\'t delivered at the indicated time, you are welcome to contact us.
ParcelLock is a locking system which can be integrated in any kind of parcel box or other parcel container. The code-based opening mechanism enables multiple opening and closing of the container, which means that on any given day shipments can be placed inside the container by various service providers. In addition it also enables the sending of parcels and return shipments, which means that you can conveniently receive and ship parcels with your parcel box even if you aren\'t at home.
You can use the ParcelLock system to send and receive your DPD parcels. To be able to use your parcel box for shipping with DPD, register on parcellock.de with your name and address and release DPD for the use of your parcel box. You can then enter your ParcelLock ID in the \"Pickup from ParcelLock\" option for returns. To receive parcels in your parcel box, you have to provide a parking permit for DPD in your ParcelLock user account. Once this is set up, we will always deliver your parcels in your ParcelLock box. Please pay attention to your delivery preferences, which you have specified under Paketnavigator.de or in the DPD app, for example the shipment to a Pickup parcelshop.
We regret that at present you can only send a single parcel from your parcel box. Please note that a pickup will not be possible if your ParcelLock box contains more than one parcel.
If you wish to use your parcel box for sending or returning parcels with DPD, you need to link the box with myDPD or DPD App account. After the link has been created the online portal displays the options: \"Collection from ParcelLock\" and \"Return from ParcelLock\". If you have set the link but the options are still not displayed, please check your settings in myDPD or DPD App (Profile).
At parcellock.de you can find out about the currently available parcel boxes and systems with Parcellock system.
After you have received your parcel you can rate our delivery service in the myDPD or in our app. Simply enter your parcel number and give the service a maximum of five stars. In addition you can, with selected delivery personnel, provide a digital tip on PayPal with just a few clicks of the mouse. We look forward to receiving your feedback!
If you have already given a rating for a delivery, this can no longer be changed. Please note that ratings do not refer to individual delivery personnel and are not connected with them. Instead ratings are evaluated anonymously on a collective basis.
You can conveniently give our delivery personnel a tip online, if you are not at home when the delivery is made. Simply give your rating for our delivery service and then select the amount which you wish to transfer to the delivery driver on PayPal. Please note that not all drivers have created a free PayPal account, and that the option of giving an online tip is not available for every individual driver.
If the contents of the parcel are damaged when they reach you, you should first contact the consignor. We can only investigate the case and inspect the damage on the instructions of the consignor.
If the status of the parcel tracking has not changed for several days, please get in touch with our team. We will then be happy to support you.
