What kind of vehicles do I need as a logistics partner local transport at DPD?

We generally recommend the use of vehicles of class N1 for the transport of goods with a total permissible weight of up to 3.5 tonnes (Sprinter) or, depending on the area, even smaller, up to commercially available pedelec cargo bikes.

Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes can also be used, provided that the corresponding road haulage permit or EU Community licence is available. It is important that your vehicles are registered in Germany, comprehensively insured and in perfect condition. The use of electric vehicles (e.g. E-Sprinter, E-Crafter) is expressly encouraged by DPD, especially for delivery areas in city centres. Before making a purchase decision, however, DPD should be consulted on the availability of charging infrastructure in relation to the specific depot and delivery area concerned.
