With its innovation leadership DPD has been demonstrating for years how effectively a parcel service provider can use digital possibilities to create an optimal shipping experience. Now the company is also breaking new ground in terms of price automation and optimisation. For example, from 2023 DPD sales teams will be able to use the cloud-based Open Pricer platform to calculate the best price for each individual customer in real time, taking all the relevant factors into account. DPD also expects long-term increases in efficiency as a result of this data-driven process innovation.
"In future DPD aims to offer its customer groups personalised prices which are based even more decisively on their individual shipping profiles and varying service requirements. That is why we have decided to roll out the Open Pricer platform. As they are data-driven, the software's pricing recommendations continuously adapt to a changing market environment. This enables us to find the perfect balance between different key performance indicators and price levels," explains Andreas Thams, Chief Sales Officer of DPD Germany.
