One login for all applications: netID makes sending and receiving parcels even easier

Regardless of whether it's an email or social media account, our favourite webshop or a daily news portal: time and again we have to log on to the Internet with a wide variety of access data. However, since November 2018 the netID new single sign-on solution has offered a way out of this password chaos. The idea is that with a single, central account users can log in directly to different sites and get started immediately. DPD is also already part of this solution with its DPD Parcel Navigator: once logged in via netID, customers have access to all the functionalities associated with sending, receiving and returning parcels. But the integration of netID not only makes parcel management more convenient. The seamless connection with other portals and merchants that also rely on netID also offers DPD customers numerous advantages.

Address data can be transmitted automatically on request

A simple login with netID is all it takes to pay for parcel shipping online in the DPD Parcel Navigator, to drop off the parcel with a digital label at the nearest Pickup parcelshop or to request a parcel collection. With the user's consent, data such as the collection address are automatically transmitted to DPD via the netID login. Registered users can also access additional functions in the DPD Parcel Navigator. For example, they can provide a permanent deposit okay online. If the consignee is not at home, parcels are then automatically deposited at the desired location (for example, in the garage or garden shed). Other individual preferences, such as redirection to a favourite local parcel shop, can also be specified in this way.

Integrated parcel tracking with GMX and WEB.DE

In cooperation with other partners who have also integrated netID into their processes, further advantages can be achieved in future: for example, logged-in users can seamlessly switch to DPD from other websites. A possible application is integrated parcel tracking for the users of the online communication services GMX and WEB.DE. In a beta test, an AI-based algorithm in the "intelligent mailbox" automatically recognises all emails relevant for a specific order, supplements them with tracking information from DPD and displays them clearly. In future logged-in users will be able to switch directly from their mailbox to the DPD Parcel Navigator in order to manage their parcels there, for example by registering individual preferences. It doesn't get any easier!
